Explore our Slaley Hall Golf Club, Northumberland.

Our two 18-hole Hexham golf courses have played host to over 20 European Tour, European Seniors Tour, PGA Cup and Asian Tour events.

Described as the 'Augusta of the North', our Hunting Course is among the finest Northumberland golf courses, with its own version of Amen Corner. Meanwhile, the more forgiving but equally as addictive Priestman Course offers wonderful panoramic views of the Tyne Valley from the tee box. Afterwards, dissect where it all went wrong (or right) over a bite to eat or tipple in the Claret Jug clubhouse or the outdoor terrace overlooking the action on the 18th.

Often nicknamed, 'The Augusta of the North', Hunting is a treasure of a Northumberland golf course, magnificently maintained and host to several flagship events.

Don't be lulled by the undulating fairways, streams and lakes, towering trees and banks of rhododendrons - this course will catch out the unwary. Well placed bunkers and tricky greens make this USGA standard, multi championship hosted course a real challenge.   Â

Fantastic service
Stayed at Slayley for the weekend, last minute plans to eat with a party of 8, Morgan B sorted a table straight away even on a busy Saturday night and catered to our needs, brilliant service, lovely meal and nothing was a problem, thank you!

Perfect
What can I say from check in to checkout this was a amazing experience and I couldn’t be happier, one of the managers Jamie really made our stay special, he is a absolute credit to your hotel. Couldn’t be more thankful
We'll be back. Lovely relaxing break.
We had a lovely relaxing time at Slayley Hall. Though felt our room was basic and tired. The spa area was very nice, another or larger jacuzzi pool wouldn't go wrong. The restaurant menu, was ok, though a change would have been good. The staff were excellent, very attentive in all areas of the hotel. We'll be back...maybe in an upgraded room.
Honest review
Just returned from an overnight stay at Slaley Hall and I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff were excellent, room was spotless and the food was perfect for my taste. The pool area was well looked after and plenty of loungers and seats for guests. My one criticism, and this is only my personal view, there should be more than one cubicle in the ladies changing room. I don't like getting changed in front of other people but it did not spoil my experience. Thank you for making our stay very enjoyable
Nice relaxing stay over
Nice relaxing stay over. We had a great experience, every single member of staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Spa experience was lovely - the relaxation room is a great chill space and my therapist, Matilda was amazing. Evening meal in the restaurant was very nice and our waiter Daniel C gave great service. Rooms perfectly clean and adequate for a short stay. Main negative if any was the pool - it’s a big dated and jacuzzi was quite small and full all the time. The bubble pool could be better utilised as a second jacuzzi
Excellent stay at Slaley Hall
Excellent stay at Slaley Hall, staff very friendly and accommodating. Very good service in the restaurant from Abby, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms very spacious and comfortable
Slaley Hall
My wife and I recently visited Slaley Hall and had a brilliant experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was lovely, the setting is beautiful, and everything felt really relaxed and welcoming. It made for a really enjoyable visit and we both left saying we’d definitely come back again. A special mention has to go to our waitress, Abby. She was absolutely fantastic throughout the evening—really friendly, attentive, and nothing was too much trouble. She made sure everything was perfect and genuinely helped make the experience even better for us. Great service like that really stands out, Thanks again to the team at Slaley Hall for a great time!
Slayley Hall - Excellent
We stayed overnight at Slayley Hall. The room was pristine and good value for money. We ate in the restaurant was excellent, both in terms of service and quality of food.
Excellent service
We were served by Jamie R in the restaurant who deserves an excellent review because of his attentiveness and professional approach to our service. We would also like to give credit to Michael Little the manager on duty again due to his professionalism in dealing with an issue we had with the food.
Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel, very nice spa and swimming pool. Bar/Restaurant was nice and cosy with excellent service from our waitress Lily. Highly recommend and will definitely be looking to come back again.
Great Restaurant Service
Enjoyed an overnight stay/spa break. Had a meal inside the restaurant on the evening. Food was nice but the facilities are amazing with fantastic service from the staff. Had Jamie R serving, nice lad very friendly and helpful. Questionable taste on football teams however. Their is only one Yannnnnited and that's NUFC!
Restaurant
We had an excellent meal tonight served by Samuel who was very helpful. Food was delicious and restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, serving excellent food, and I would highly recommend.
Slayley House Hotel Restaurant
We just had an excellent meal in the restaurant. The food was beautifully cooked and presented and the service by Samuel was very attentive. Highly recommend.
Wonderful spa day
Visited with friends for a spa day at slaley hall, a wonderful experience. The spa facilities were excellent, lovely pool...big enough to get some lengths in, lovely sauna too. The relax room before/after treatment was lovely, very quiet and plenty comfy seats to relax in . Treatment and treatment rooms were amazing, very comfortable and the ambience was relaxing, I had a back massage and facial and it was perfect, my therapist (Kayleigh) was very friendly and I felt so relaxed after my treatments, she took very good care of me . 100% lovely day ...will be back
Lovely Spa Break
Beautifully located this Spa Hotel was a lovely break. The standard rooms spacious well decorated with a large comfortable bed. The spa has everything you would want with a pool, sauna and steam room. Dinner and breakfast produced great choice and delicious dishes and the lounge areas are a great place to relax. Dog friendly with a special area for doggie diners.
Lovely, relaxing couple of nights at Slaley Hall
We stayed two nights at Slaley Hall. The hotel was quiet and all staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast was good and we ate in the restaurant both nights. I’d particularly like to single out Jamie R for great service in the restaurant, what a delightful young man he is! I also had a facial in the spa with Lauren which was wonderful. Thank you.
Mothers Day treat
Group of 4 girls for Mother’s Day treat. Bedrooms were lovely and spacious, food fabulous and pool nice and quiet in the evening.
Lovely Family Break with great amenities.
The ambiance on arrival is lovely, stylish, calm, welcoming and the reception area smells wonderful. Reception staff were excellent, very welcoming, extremely helpful, informative and professional. The Rooms were clean and all amenities required were fulfilled. The Beds would have been nice if a little bigger. Cleanliness of the hotel was great. There were no issues with noise levels whilst in the rooms and the atmosphere as a whole in the hotel around pool area, bar area etc was lovely, not too noisy but felt relaxed and able to enjoy a family time. Amenities were great, and the Driving Range was fabulous and extremely welcoming whilst a children's class was on for our 3 year old.
Couples Night Away
Booked a deal via Wowcher and couldn’t be more impressed! Overnight stay, spa access, breakfast & dinner credit. Spa/pool area is massive with plenty of seats and loungers. Grounds and building itself are amazing. Enjoyed being able to have a couple of drinks around the pool area. Rooms are spacious - only downside is the chair at the mirror is far too low so I could only see the top of my head & hair dryer wire is super short. Beds were super comfy. Had a lovely nights sleeps. Dinner was superb! Plenty to choose from. So many nice places to sit and have a drink after dinner. Breakfast was again, amazing. So so much to choose from. I had about 3/4 plates worth. We also went quad biking which I would definitely recommend!!
