Explore our Slaley Hall Golf Club, Northumberland.

Our two 18-hole Hexham golf courses have played host to over 20 European Tour, European Seniors Tour, PGA Cup and Asian Tour events.

Described as the 'Augusta of the North', our Hunting Course is among the finest Northumberland golf courses, with its own version of Amen Corner. Meanwhile, the more forgiving but equally as addictive Priestman Course offers wonderful panoramic views of the Tyne Valley from the tee box. Afterwards, dissect where it all went wrong (or right) over a bite to eat or tipple in the Claret Jug clubhouse or the outdoor terrace overlooking the action on the 18th.

Often nicknamed, 'The Augusta of the North', Hunting is a treasure of a Northumberland golf course, magnificently maintained and host to several flagship events.

Don't be lulled by the undulating fairways, streams and lakes, towering trees and banks of rhododendrons - this course will catch out the unwary. Well placed bunkers and tricky greens make this USGA standard, multi championship hosted course a real challenge.

Great service by Jamie R, he is the superstar
Excellent Stay
Lovely stay at Slaley Hall, the rooms are well presented, beautiful grounds and all the bars and restaurants are great. The food at Hadrian’s Brasserie was particularly good, and our waiter Matthew was excellent.
Anniversary celebrations
Great location and setting. Dinner and breakfast was good and enjoyable. It was noticeable that the staff were trying there best although they seemed on the young side and not hugely experienced. We had an issue with lunch when we arrived but it was addressed when we checked out the next day.
Evening meal
Had a great meal in the Main restaurant and our waiter Matthew was fantastic, very good knowledge of the food and the wine. Very customer service orientated server and was glad to have him as nothing was too much trouble. Really enjoyable meal. Five stars
Excellent weekend with friends golfing.
We spent an excellent weekend with friends golfing at Slaley Hall Golf and Spa resort. All of the staff were friendly and polite especially Ethan, who served us dinner in the bar. He made us up a table for 6 and couldn’t have been more helpful. We would definitely recommend a stay here with friends.

Weekend Golf Break
Fabulous three night stay, dinner Bed & Breakfast + golf. All staff were very attentive, special mention to Matthew in the restaurant who looked after us on our last night. Golf courses (both Hunting & Priestman) in excellent condition. Great value for money for a weekend break.

Hotel fantastic, restaurant not so
This is a beautiful hotel. We had a room overlooking the golf course and the lovely rhododendron bushes. The room was cleaned well each day. We had a linked room which was quite noisy. Not the fault of the hotel but we could hear next door's chat, TV and snoring. I'd ask for a non linked room next time. The interior of the hotel is smart, clean and well maintained. We really liked all the little quiet snug areas where you could sit with your drink (optional). There are some very pretty walks around the grounds. You can get a map from reception which marks out several walks of varying length. Quite important to follow the marked paths as you do come close to the golf greens. The spa is well appointed but children are allowed in which means it can be a bit noisy. Breakfast is served in the dining room, buffet style with options to order additional dishes. I liked the fact scrambled eggs are cooked to order and not sat under the heat lamps. The bacon wasn't great though, overcooked and dry. The restaurant ran out of butter one morning. These are minor niggles but the main reason I haven't rated Slayley Hall 5 stars was the evening food. We ate in the bar on our first night, both had fish and chips which is also on the restaurant menu so presumably same chef and kitchen. The chips are advertised as thick cut. Yes they are but they are frozen and the fish looked like it was too. It's not difficult to do hand cut chips and would have been so much nicer. Service was good. Improve your restaurant and you are looking at a 5 star establishment. That said, we loved staying here and would definitely stay again.
Slaley hall
I booked for my husbands birthday , we are members of the breakaway club , upon arrival our room was ready & we were given an upgrade , we were allocated the muggleswick room which was huge , the room was a traditional room with an extra large bed , sitting area & large bathroom we were delighted & greeted with a lovely happy birthday message & card , the staff were great upon arrival explaine the gym , bars & restaurants & meal times , with a sheet if meal times , our stay was for 2 nights B&B . if you are looking for a luxury stay this is the place to book , staff from arrival , to serving food & service in the bars was exceptional , we only have one tiny tiny fault the breakfast was plentiful & lots of variety but the hot side was not very hot ( i feel really bad as everything else was amazing ) , this is no fault of the chefs i feel like the hot plate did not keep the food warm , all in all we had an amazing time & will 100% be returning
