Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle

Get some exercise and end up at a majestic castle.
The coastal walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle is lovely for pets and ‘paw-rents’ to enjoy together.
Lambley Viaduct and Featherstone Castle
1 hour drive | Time: 1.5 hours approx
Going to Featherstone in Northumberland?
Stretch your legs on a circular walk passing Lambley Viaduct and Featherstone Castle. The route is about 4.5 miles long and popular among hikers and trail runners if you want to up your pace.
Simonside and Dove Crag Circular
1 hour drive | Time: 1.6 hours approx
Take your pooch for a stroll in Northumberland National Park.
The 5-mile Simonside and Dove Crag circular route is known for its rugged beauty and amazing animal sightings. So be sure to bring your binoculars and birding book along.
The Armstrong Trail, Cragside

How does a walk along the water sound?
The Armstrong Trail at Cragside takes you around Tumbleton Lake, along winding paths and past some of England’s tallest trees before heading back to the house. It’s also just 3.2 miles and totally dog-friendly.
Slaley Forest Circular
19 minute drive | Time: 2.5 hours approx
Step outside your door and into nature with the Slaley Forest Circular walk - a beautiful woodland loop winding through the trees of Slaley Forest, with scenic paths and lovely views over the surrounding area and Derwent Reservoir.
Seahouses to Bamburgh Coastal Walk
1.3 hour drive | Time: 2.5 hours approx
Set off from the lively seaside village of Seahouses and stroll along one of Northumberland’s most beautiful stretches of coast, ending at the striking silhouette of Bamburgh Castle. The walk takes you across golden sands, beside dunes and offer sweeping views of the North Sea and the approaching castle perched on its rocky throne.

Discover an extraordinary outdoor sculpture-landscape near Cramlington: a giant reclining figure carved from the hillside, surrounded by footpaths and woodland. The walk around Northumberlandia offers easy-going trails, varied slopes, and dramatic views of “the Lady” from multiple angles.
