Mr Kennedy's Brasserie
Thomas Robson Kennedy held the roles of valet, chauffeur and butler for Major Jonathan Lee Priestman here at Slaley Hall for most of his adult life after serving in the Northumberland Fusiliers throughout the Second World War. Once Major ‘Jack’ passed away he was kept on by Mrs Christine Helen Priestman as the Hall’s General Manager before his retirement, when the house was sold in 1984.
Many of Thomas’ memories and photographs are catalogued in the historic information held with our concierge team; including his various uniforms over the years, the vehicles he drove and the way Slaley Hall and the wider estate were opened up to the local community for shows, activities and well-being causes in its later years.
Raise a glass to Mr Kennedy during your stay.
